Dear
Readers and Contributors of Indian Journal of Advances in
Chemical Science,
On
Saturday, 12th May 2018, I came to know that
Indian Journal of Advances in Chemical Science is not
showing in the UGC Approved Journal’s list (In the 2017
UGC list, IJACS was listed journal at
UGC website under Chemistry journals
list SNo.: 644; Journal
no: 44887).
I was
shock after hearing this news, I am sure you might have
experienced the same. I have the courage to display this
page publicly on the webpage, because I am trying to serve
scientific and academic community and I never mislead
scientific community as well as academicians by hiding the
facts about the journal reputation. Since we are all
working together for the better science for better society
and we should believe in the good work and fight for
injustice if any.
‘Indian
Journal of Advances in Chemical Science’
(IJACS) (ISSN No.: 2320-0898
(Print); 2320-0928 (Electronic)) is peer-reviewed
journal started in the year 2012, publishing research
results under erudite guidance of national and international
experts. IJACS is indexed in American Chemical
Society-Chemical Abstracts Service (ACS-CAS
CODEN: IJACKX) and
Google Scholar. Also IJACS is a
Crossref
member (Publishers International Linking Association
Inc., PILA) and has been issued with
Digital Object Identifier (DOI:
10.22607/IJACS)
prefix for assigning DOIs to the published articles/papers
and other documents as published or to be published in the
IJACS.
IJACS is named after great nation ‘India’ with fully service
oriented from non-profit organization. This Journal is
not at all predatory Journal and if you find out some
lacunas in the peer-review procedure, publication process or
anything else, do let us know. We always welcome
constructive criticism and are committed to embracing any
changes and policy decisions too.
In
last 6 years, IJACS published more than 358 research papers
(as on date
12-05-2018) besides creative pieces.
Now because of UGC's step to remove Journal from the list
has put a question mark on all those published articles.
Many scholars won't be able to submit their Ph.D., and many
of you people won't be able to claim API points for your
recruitment or promotion. I assure you that this Journal
will never ever go down and delete its website or published
contents. Because, when we started this Journal our purpose
was to provide a better scientific platform to researchers
and academicians, to showcase their genuine contribution.
IJACS
still receiving manuscript form various Indian institutes
like CSIR-NAL, Bangalore; DB-E&EML, Bangalore; IPIR&TI (MoEF)
Bangalore; BARC, Mumbai; ICT, Mumbai; IIT, Chennai; and
IGCAR, Kalpakkam, etc. Also, IJACS is receiving manuscript
form various other countries like USA, Brazil, France, South
Korea, Egypt, Bangladesh, South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria
which shows international reputation of the journal.
But we all together can make a difference by appealing to
UGC to accommodate this Journal back in the list not because
you published in this journal or I started this Journal but because
IJACS is an
indexed in
American Chemical Society-Chemical Abstracts Service (ACS-CAS
CODEN: IJACKX) and
Google Scholar; and also IJACS is a
Crossref
member (Publishers International Linking Association
Inc., PILA) and has been issued with
Digital Object Identifier (DOI:
10.22607/IJACS)
and which is UGC's prime criteria.
I request
all the contributors, who published their articles in
Indian Journal of Advances in Chemical Science, Readers,
who read articles published in the Journal and Research
Scholars, who cited articles published in Indian Journal
of Advances in Chemical Science to appeal to UGC by
sending an email to UGC (ugc.api@gmail.com
&
ugcjournal17@gmail.com )
putting your genuine experience with the Journal and its
practices.
Here are
some of the points you can use in your email to UGC.
