Abstract

Green and an efficient procedure for the synthesis of 2-(5-chloro-3-methyl-1-phenyl-pyrazol-4-yl)-chromen-4-one derivatives
from substituted chalcones in polyethylene glycol-400 as a green solvent using iodine as a catalyst is reported. The reported
procedure is very practical, short reaction time, and high yielded over an expensive catalyst.
