Abstract
Amberlyst-15 mediated novel method for the synthesis of aurones was reporte. Condensation of an aldehyde with
benzofuran-3(2H)-one using Amberlyst IR-15 resin in aqueous ethanol was well demonstrated to get good yields.
The synthesized compounds 3e and 3f were most active against the inhibition of breast cancer cell lines MDA-
MB-468 and MCF-7 in vitro compared with 5-fluorouracil.
