Abstract

Density data were measured for the binary mixtures of m-xylene with o-nitrotoluene and m-nitrotoluene at
298.15 K, 303.15 K, 308.15 K, and 313.15 K. These data have been utilized to compute excess volumes (VE) for
the binary liquid mixtures. The excess volume data have been fitted to the Redlich-Kister polynomial equation to
derive the binary coefficients and to estimate the standard deviation. The nature of intermolecular interactions
has been analyzed using the excess volume data.
