Abstract
A simple, efficient and highly environmentally benign method is developed for the Cbz protection of amines by a
treatment with Cbz-Cl in water at room temperature. The mildness and eco-friendly reaction conditions, organic
solvent free conversion, high chemoselectivity and impressive yields are the notable advantages of the method.
