Abstract
The present study focused on phosphotungstic acid (PWA) particles with different concentrations anchored on sodium
carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC)/gellan gum blend membranes were prepared to evaluate its hydrophilic nature. The
prepared membranes exhibited flux and selectivity values 0.389 Kg/m2 h and 8172.81, the pervaporation index values
is 3179.22 for the membrane with the highest loading of PWA (30%) at 30°C. The obtained results suggested that the
incorporation of PWA particles is showed the highest PV performance. These membranes were also characterized using
several techniques such as Fourier transform infrared, differential scanning colorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray
diffraction, and FE-scanning electron micrograph, which shows good interface interactions between filler and polymer blend
membranes.
